Shell and partners mark Fire Prevention Month with Search for Outstanding Firefighters

In celebration of the 46th Fire Prevention Month, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (Shell), in partnership with the Safety Organization of the Philippines (SOPI), is launching a campaign recognizing the valor of Filipino firefighters. The search for the Outstanding Pilipino Firefighters (TOPF) is an annual programme aimed at acknowledging and appreciating the bravery and dedication of firefighters who risk their lives to protect people and property from fires.

Shell and BFP team up to promote fire safety

In line with the observance of the 46th Fire Prevention Month, Shell companies in the Philippines partnered with the Bureau of Fire Protection in its advocacy of promoting fire safety in the community. The partnership was marked by the signing of the BFP-Shell Fire Safety Initiative Memorandum of Agreement which jumpstarts the series of safety trainings, programs and fire drills to be conducted in Shell’s network of terminals, retail sites and corporate offices.

Royal Dutch Shell plc said today that it is donating US$1 million, in response to the catastrophic typhoon Sendong (international name typhoon Washi). The deadliest cyclone to hit the Philippines in the last 12 years, typhoon Sendong left over a thousand people dead in the provinces of northern Mindanao and billions worth of infrastructure and agriculture in ravages.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (Shell) has contributed its paving systems technology for the construction of Gawad Kalinga (GK)’s Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan. Access to the farm is now made easier, thanks to Shell’s Instapave technology, an all-weather paving system ideal for rural roads. Shell Instapave smoothened a kilometre of rough road inside the farm, providing easier access to Gawad Kalinga’s livelihood programs that help improve the quality of life in local communities.

Shell launched a new 800 ml packaging for three of its motorcycle oil products namely AX3, AX5 and AX7, while the 1L packaging is still available for bikers who own bigger motorcycles.
