Royal Dutch Shell plc said today that it is donating US$1 million, in response to the catastrophic typhoon Sendong (international name typhoon Washi). The deadliest cyclone to hit the Philippines in the last 12 years, typhoon Sendong left over a thousand people dead in the provinces of northern Mindanao and billions worth of infrastructure and agriculture in ravages.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (Shell) has contributed its paving systems technology for the construction of Gawad Kalinga (GK)’s Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan. Access to the farm is now made easier, thanks to Shell’s Instapave technology, an all-weather paving system ideal for rural roads. Shell Instapave smoothened a kilometre of rough road inside the farm, providing easier access to Gawad Kalinga’s livelihood programs that help improve the quality of life in local communities.
